Patient Services and Accounting System, Vrindaban - Blood
Bank Component
The term "blood bank" typically refers to a division of a hospital
laboratory where the storage of blood product occurs and where proper
testing is performed to reduce the risk of transfusion related events.
This includes compatibility testing for transfusion and may include
blood donation processing, depending on the capabilities of the
facility.
Donor is one who is donating the blood. Donors are of three types
- Replacement Donor: One who is donating blood for a
particular patient.
- Voluntary Donor; One who is donating blood voluntarily (Not
to any particular patient)
- Family Donor: One who is donating blood for his/her
own family member.

The blood bank component was introduced in
PSAS in August 2011 and it is
running successfully till date. There are approximately 5 to 6 blood
bags issued every day which makes it more than 1000 registrations
annually and with the ease of registrations and record keeping it is
increasing day by day. The Blood bank facility is not restricted to the
hospital patients but it is also available for the needy coming from
outside.
