Magazine Subscriber
Management System
Background
The
magazine subscriber management system is designed for Ramakrishna
Ashram, Mysore. Sri Ramakrishna Ashram, Mysore has the biggest
publication of Ramakrishna-Vivekananda and Vedanta Literature in
Kannada. The Ashrama releases a kannada monthly magazine 'Viveka
Prabha' which has a circulation of 25,000.With
a view of taking education to the door of the common man. This
application has been used for the years 2010, 2011,and 2012. |

Approach
We adopt the agile software
development process to achieve better requirement understanding,
faster delivery and cater to changing requirements. The software has
been rolled out successfully. Oracle Database Express Edition is
being used as the development framework.
Project Scope
- allow entering subscriber information.
- provide ease search option.
- enerate subscription expiry remainder.
- generate label for the subscriber to whom the
magzine has
to be delivered.
- incorporate easy transitioning between manual and
automated handling of subscriber's account.

Details |
Key Challenges
- Migrating the Ms Access Database (Ashram
currently using to maintain database) to the Oracle Database.
- Should be able to fallback to manual system in case of
system failures and synchronize the data at a later time.
