About RKMS Kankhal: Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama Hospital Kankhal, Haridwar is a non-profit organisation whose main goal is to provide the medical services to the poor people. But the need of organisation is quite different from the general hospital management system. Since the funds for different functions of hospital are coming from the donations., so hospital wants to maintain the transparency in the account. So that at any point of time hospital can show the reports, based on the expenses and incomes from patients for using different services. Also, payment structure is quite different from the regular hospitals as discount at various levels are provided to patients on a need-basis.

We are currently dealing with Patient Registration, Ward/Emergency Registration, Services Registration, Payment, Discount, Advance, Refund and Discharge of a patient. Service Registration is depending on the type of ward patient is registered and in case of OPD patients are charged as the general ward patients.
Scope of the project
- Develop accounting software which will automate the billing process at the OPD, IPD and collection counters. This will in turn help in partially automating the budgeting and auditing processes.
- Incorporate easy transitioning between manual and automated handling of patient services accounting.
- System can easily provide the detailed report of all the expenses of services in case of any type of medical insurance requirement.
- Provide role-based access control to staff in-charge to waive service charges and issue free slips.
- Handle different kind of discounts and merging of discount in the account of services
- Bill generation according to the payment capability of patient at a time.
- Record keeping and easy Search options.
- Providing options of reports for Daily collections, Free patients etc.
